10 Dog Breeds That Are Extra Clingy With Their Owners

While every dog loves being with their human, there are some that really, really love to be with you. Dogs are sensitive creatures, and their desire to be near you is very strong–but for some, it’s more than that. Do you like a dog that clings to your side, ready to be your pal wherever you go? Then one of these clingy dog breeds, or “velcro dog breeds,” might be just the one for you!

#1 – Labrador Retriever

Labs are known for their easygoing personality and attachment to their humans. They’ll go anywhere with you – until “death do you part,” and even then, we are sure they wait at the Bridge. If you set aside plenty of time to exercise, cuddle, and play with your pup, they’re sure to love you forever. Labs are also known as one of the smartest dog breeds, which is why you’ll often see them working as service dogs.

#2 – Italian Greyhound

These little guys want a lap to sit on 24/7 and will make a fuss if you try to leave them behind, so don’t even think about it. They look just like Greyhounds, but much smaller at less than 15 pounds. They’re adaptable to new situations, but one thing they don’t tolerate well is the cold. That’s why you’ll see these skinny dogs often rocking cute little sweaters. As a plus, they also shed very little and are even tolerant around strangers.

These short, wrinkly pups are one of the most popular breeds, and it’s no surprise why. They have the cutest little faces, with a flat snouts and pointed ears. Coton de Tulears are one of the most clingy dog breeds because they’re devoted to their humans. They aren’t willing to stay at home while you go on adventures, so make sure you buy them a doggy car seat. #9 – Great Dane

This gentle giant loves attention. They would rather follow you around than do much else, so you better have room in that SUV for your Dane to tag along. Despite regularly weighing over 100 pounds, these canines are often lazy and prefer lounging around beside their humans as much as possible. If you have a Great Dane in your home, you’ll also want to keep your counters clear. After all, they’re tall enough to grab food off the table or knock over vases with their tails. But don’t worry, their love and devotion make up for it.

So, be sure to give them plenty of exercise, even in a home setting.
